Centennial College - Social Service Worker Program Welcome to the Social Service Worker Program at Centennial College.

In two years, the Social Service Worker program will prepare you to be a critical practitioner, problem solver and agent of social change. To empower disenfranchised and marginalized populations to use and develop their skills, abilities and resources, you will study: social justice, and inclusion and equality of people regardless of class, race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation and

ability. Additionally, this School of Community and Health Studies program will focus on helping you to reflect how values and ideologies contribute to the construction of social problems and prescribed solutions. This Social Service Worker program will demonstrate the core values of the profession — a non-judgmental attitude and respect for all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion and sexual orientation. Because social service work is a regulated profession in Ontario, you will be eligible to apply for membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). In the field, you will be concerned with helping individuals, families, groups and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being. To do this, you will ally with people to develop and improve resources that will assist people to resolve problems and enhance quality of life.

Our HyFlex Class -Power and Social Movements. Students can join our class in person, via Zoom in real time and also do their course activities at their own time asynchronously. Thank you Mr. Sina, our AV team member at Ashtonbee campus for setting our HyFlex class and doing a performance. Great example of collaboration. Most importantly our students are amazing and highly engaged from the first class.
