Founded in 1922, the Hart House Student Art Committee aims to provide its members with a sense of community and invaluable professional experience within the many facets of the art field. The Hart House Student Art Committee invites student art clubs, organizations, collectives, and creative student groups from across the University of Toronto to participate in our annual Kick-Off Party.
This event is an opportunity for students to discover the rich arts ecosystem across UTSG, UTSC, and UTM, meet fellow creatives, learn about upcoming opportunities, and connect with student-led arts communities. Participating organizations will be provided with a table where they can showcase their activities, recruit new members, promote upcoming events, and engage directly with attendees.
We welcome organizations representing all artistic disciplines, including visual arts, photography, film, music, dance, theatre, creative writing, crafts, interdisciplinary arts, cultural arts, and emerging creative practices.

The Hart House Student Art Committee invites applications from student artists across the University of Toronto to participate in our annual Live Painting Competition as part of the 2026 Kick-Off Party.
We are seeking nine student artists—three from each of UTSG, UTSC, and UTM—to take part in an exciting evening of creativity, community, and friendly competition. Working in front of a live audience, selected artists will have one hour to create an original artwork inspired by a theme that will be revealed at the start of the competition.
Whether you are an emerging artist looking to share your work, gain experience creating in a public setting, or connect with fellow creatives from across the university, we encourage you to apply.

❄️Call for Vendors: Winter Art Market ❄️

The Hart House Student Art Committee invites University of Toronto students, staff, faculty, and other UofT community members who own small businesses to apply as vendors for our Winter Arts & Crafts Market. We welcome handmade goods such as art & crafts, art prints, clothing, jewellery, and more!

Please note that edible goods are not permitted for sale at this time.

Students participating in the market will need to pay a vendor fee of $22 to support the fundraising efforts of the Art Committee. The proceeds from this event will contribute to the budget of the Hart House Art Committee.

Vendors are responsible for managing their own transactions during the market.

Enjoy an exciting live painting competition featuring student artists across all 3 campuses, where the audience will vote to determine the winner of the prize. Throughout the evening, you’ll also be able to enjoy a live DJ, complimentary food and drinks, and a quiet creative corner to unwind.
