Have a casual one-on-one industry chat about your EP at the Listening Party! 🎶

The co-founder of Black Women in Music Canada (BCWM), Shaneka, will be offering one-on-one chats about your EP, and sharing insights into artist and creative development! 💜

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗸𝗮
Shaneka is a Canadian artist manager, playlist curator and event producer. Since 2023, she has worked hands-on with independent and emerging artists across development, branding, creative direction, and release rollouts. She currently manages Franchize, a Remix Project alumni, and 2Kz, recognized by OVO Sound, while collaborating with Toronto-based label Rel8ted Records on artist development and creative initiatives. Shaneka has also launched her “Rap Girlies Era” playlist to showcase her A&R ear and highlight emerging women in music. She has also contributed A&R and creative support to projects with LA-based label 10K Projects.

Shaneka is also a co-founder of BCWM (Black Canadian Women in Music), a growing community focused on creating opportunities for Black Canadian women and gender-diverse individuals to connect, collaborate, and build within the Canadian music industry.

Passionate about building platforms for emerging talent, Shaneka continues to create opportunities that amplify underrepresented voices in music.

Black Canadian Women in Music (BCWM), is an initiative dedicated to networking & building community amongst Black Canadian women & Black Canadian gender-diverse individuals within the Canadian music industry, who currently work behind the scenes. This includes roles in the following departments: artist management, music journalism, marketing, creative direction, event coordination/ production, A&R, publishing, producers, DJs with their own collectives & more.
