Dear colleagues,
It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our dear friend.
Howard Holmes left us on April 18, 2021 after a lengthy fight with many physical challenges. We received the awful news yesterday and we are devastated because Howard was a friend and mentor; and, for many of us, he was a stalwart defender and crusader for oral and maxillofacial surgery and residency education. He was honest, insightful, pointed and he did not suffer fools gladly. He would be able to make you shake in your boots in one moment, and then to find yourself in stitches the next. Known and respected nationally for his wisdom, knowledge, wit, and shoot-from-the-hip attitude he made us proud of what we do, and his unyielding support was unparalleled.
