Bonus: If the skies are clear, we’ll set up our 1m telescope for live observing!

Killarney Parks and the Allan I. Carswell Observatory present the Astronomer in Residence program, an astronomy outreach endeavour!
This is an exciting chance to share your love of astronomy in the wonderful outdoors of the dark sky site at Killarney Provincial Park. Be a part of live, in-person tours as well as remote events, and share your adventures on the Astronomer in Residence Blog.
Perks: Limited stipends available. Be sure to note in your application if this is a limiting factor!

Observatory members Sunna Withers and Nakul Sethuram Ramjee have successfully tracked NASA’s Artemis II mission using the Allan I. Carswell Observatory’s 1-metre telescope!
In the early morning hours, the York University students captured images of the Orion spacecraft as it returned from its journey around the Moon. The mission includes Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and represents a major step toward future human exploration of deep space.
