Ryerson University Cultural Awareness Committee

Ryerson University Cultural Awareness Committee At Ryerson University there is a very diverse and multiethnic population. being entertaining
2. promotes interaction and unity among the various groups on campus

The Cultural Awareness Committee (CAC) is made up of students, staff and faculty interested in raising AWARENESS of the diversity of the cultures and ethnicities that make up the Ryerson community. As such, there are times when some voices feel excluded from the campus in a variety of ways. The CAC works with members of the Ryerson community to:
• Increase self-empowerment within groups at Ryerson

so they feel they are in a safe and welcoming space
• Establish cultural events and celebrations aimed at building awareness and educating the entire Ryerson community about the differences that exist on campus
• To plan, execute and assist in funding events that allow for more visibility of groups on campus in that the events are open to the entire Ryerson community

Our approach to building these events/celebrations is through a philosophy of EDUTAINMENT – education and entertainment with the purpose of :
1. providing a diversion or some amusement while being educational
3. providing something pleasurable – such as a performance or music
4. making events hospitable through the provision of “high touch” activities
that cater to the needs and wants of guests
5.
