Say hi to Michael! 👋

Michael is an ECE major in the EngSci program and the co-founder and technical lead at Prandtl Dynamics. We asked Michael which five objects he can’t live without. And he delivered! 💬

When it comes to innovating, maintaining a work-life balance, or learning, these are the things that get Michael through his day. 💻

Wondering what the difference between EngSci & ECE is? 🤔

— The EngSci ECE major at the University of Toronto is a comprehensive program that prepares students for a wide range of engineering disciplines. The major covers a broad range of technical electives, allowing students to focus on their specific interests within Electrical and Computer Engineering. The major is designed to provide a broad background in both electrical and computer disciplines and their integration, preparing students for careers in various sectors of the economy that depend on power, control, communication, and computation.

👋 Meet Uzma, one of our 2025–26 ECE Ambassadors!

🎯 Uzma describes her Computer Engineering experience as rigorous, engaging, and inspiring — shaped by a community that’s always ready to help.

🤝 She wishes more students knew just how collaborative the ECE program is. Whether you’re stuck on a concept or need clarity, there’s always someone — a peer or a prof — willing to support you.

🍜 And when she’s taking a study break? You’ll find her at two favourite spots near Baldwin St: Koh Lipe and Kinton Ramen.

💡 The ECE department recently hosted the team from Groq - a leader in machine learning, for an ECE Industry Day. Top talent from Groq toured the labs and facilities before ECE Chair Professor Deepa Kundur led a panel disucssion for students. ✨

Students were able to connect one on one with Groq talent and get answers for any questions they may have. Special thanks to Deepa Kundur and Groq for contributing to the success of the day.
