As both OPSEU 576 and OCADFA are in active bargaining, this is an opportunity for all unionized workers at OCADU to unite behind our bargaining teams and reject the austerity agenda the University is currently mired in.

Come hear counter-narratives on the financial challenges the University faces, alternative choices that can be made, share how budget cuts have impacted your working conditions, and rally together for a better OCAD.

“I share these reflections in the hope that they may contribute to ongoing conversations about how informal resolution processes can be clear, proportionate and supportive for everyone involved, while preserving the confidentiality and dignity of students.

These reflections led me to think more broadly about how informal resolution processes might be designed and communicated, particularly when the circumstances giving rise to them can be complex and involve different levels of concern.”

As we head into a new academic year, I'd like to share my experience and a few "survival" tips with our sessional members. I started teaching at OCAD University in 2018, and looking back, there's a lot I had to figure out on my own simply because no one told me…

If you're a first-year sessional, or even a returning sessional who didn't know what OCADFA does, like myself, and something about your contract, hours, or pay scale doesn't add up, don't go looking for the right door on your own, as I did. Reach out to OCADFA. That's exactly what we're here for. The sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can help.
