The principal feast of the Chapter is the Thursday before Easter. No reason whatever will excuse a failure to hold a Chapter on that day, and if, in the place where one lives, there be no other Knights, he must perform the ceremony alone, and unite “in spirit” with his brethren, who, on the same day, will remember him. If one is on a journey, still he can, even ought, to perform his duty.

Today, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Canada honours the men and women who served—and those who continue to serve—in defence of freedom. Among them were countless Scottish Rite Masons who demonstrated courage, leadership, and sacrifice both on the battlefield and at home.

Their legacy reminds us of the deep connection between service, duty, and the values we uphold.

Canada Day message from our Sovereign Grand Commander, Ill. Bro. David A. Bennett 33°:

Within the past several months, I have had the privilege of visiting areas of our beautiful Country, spending time with many of our members and their families. I am inspired by the renewed energy to support our Noble Rite and the blessings of being citizens of Canada. We have much to celebrate. The recent challenges to our Sovereignty have only increased our strength and commitment to our beloved Country.

I have also had the opportunity to meet with several leaders of the Scottish Rite at the XXI World Conference of Supreme Councils. Many took time to express their love and respect for Canada. They wish us all the best moving forward. It was heartwarming to know we have the support of the international community!

On behalf of your Supreme Council, we wish you and your families a wonderful 158th Canada Day Celebration. Enjoy! Enjoy!

As I write this message, I hope some of you are experiencing Spring weather. For others, we are patiently waiting for the snow to disappear, warm breezes allowing us to witness new growth and enjoy outside activities such as hitting the links, catching the “big one”, planting a garden, the delicious aromas of BBQs on the deck, or opening the cottage.
 
As Scottish Rite Freemasons, Spring is also a season for renewal and reflection in our Chapters of Rose Croix. A time to support your Most Wise Sovereign, Officers, and fellow members by joining us to renew our commitment as Masons of all faiths to the precepts of Faith, Hope & Charity.
 
I wish everyone a blessed and joyful Easter season. May this time of renewal and reflection bring peace, hope, and unity to all. Let us embrace the spirit of love, compassion, and kindness as we celebrate the shared values that bring us together. In this season and throughout the year, enjoy and explore our beautiful country of Canada. We have so much to be thankful for!
