On March 31st, SVPRO invites all gender non-conforming and trans students to join us at our office for a chill, relaxing, and grounding safe space for Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️✨

- Brock Commons South, Room 2110

⏰ When?
- March 31st, 11 AM - 4 PM (drop in anytime!)

There will be various activities, such as movie, legos, and playdough, along with snacks and a welcoming community 🫂🤗

The SVPRO would like to wish everyone a happy International Women’s Day! Today is meant to commemorate the history of women, their achievements today, and the fight for equal rights that continues today.

We’d also like to acknowledge that the fight for women’s rights includes ALL women of ALL backgrounds, including black, brown, and trans women. The fight for a better world includes us all.

Remember to thank the wonderful women in your lives, and take steps to ensure that you are working towards a more equitable and inclusive world in which all can flourish.

Do you have some clothes you’d like to get rid of? Some purchases you rather regret? 🤔

Well, we have some good news for you - SVPRO is hosting a clothing drive for the upcoming Trans Day of Visibility Free Store! 🏳️‍⚧️🛍️

Come drop off your lightly used (or even new) clothes to our office - you can find us in Brock Commons South, Rm. 2110 (in case you need a reminder, watch our tour video a few posts down 😉)

Come from now until March 20th, from 10 am - 4 pm to drop off any donations. Thanks for your help!

My name is Tanisha (she/her), and I am a second-year student studying International Relations here at UBC. I am beyond excited to be joining the UBC SVPRO as a social media coordinator, and I look forward to building an online community dedicated to fostering a culture of consent and inclusivity, both at UBC and beyond! 🫶🏽

In my day-to-day life you can find me hunched over a paper, binge-watching New Girl, or listening to Lizzy McAlpine on repeat 😌 Moreover, as a deeply contemplative yet talkative person, I love reconnecting with my surroundings and getting to know the people in my environment. UBC’s beautiful campus inspires me, but the people inside of it inspire me more. I am grateful for the invaluable stories and voices of everyone here. This is what drives me!

In any case, I am eager to connect with the online community we’ve built at SVPRO, one I hope to help continue grow. Through this account, we will be sharing helpful information, resources, and events.
