The planning process to update the Wesbrook Place Neighbourhood Plan, with a focus on a new area of the neighbourhood, Wesbrook Place South, is continuing. This is the first major step in implementing Campus Vision 2050 and UBC wants to hear from you.

Input from the community in fall 2024, along with technical and design work, was used to develop a draft plan. Key elements of the draft plan will be shared with the community for feedback from Feb 4 - 23. Fill out the survey or attend an upcoming event!

Pacific Spirit Regional Park, including Wreck Beach, are natural treasures and we’re fortunate to be located just steps away from them. Here's what we can do to enjoy them safely and responsibly:

- Follow the opening and closing times to ensure your own safety and the safety of others.
- Refrain from playing loud and amplified music so that fellow park goers can enjoy nature’s own soundtrack.
- Carry your garbage and recycling out.
- No alcohol consumption, as it’s not permitted.

The UBC Green Labs program is proud to announce the winners of the International Freezer Challenge 2024!

Participation in the International Freezer Challenge – an energy conservation campaign targeting cold storage in labs – is part of UBC Green Labs’ strategy for researcher engagement and resource conservation in labs. Ultimately, these initiatives support progress towards UBC’s Climate Action Plan 2030 energy conservation and engagement targets.

This year's results show an estimated $11,188 total annual UBC savings from the challenge! To learn more about the winning labs clink on the link in bio.

UBC's bike subsidies and programs can help you achieve your personal sustainable transportation goals. Curious?

💸 We've teamed up with our partners at Zygg to make e-bike ownership more affordable through subsidies for purchases and rentals for all UBC staff and faculty. If you, a friend, or a colleague, are looking to get an e-bike, don't forget to use this opportunity!

🍃 Not ready for the commitment of owning an e-bike? The one week free e-bike trial program is still available. Test out some models and see if you're ready to take the next step.

🚲 If you're not looking to own, then bike share may be for you. All UBC community members can enjoy the new Mobi stations coming throughout this summer and fall and can sign up for discounts exclusively for the UBC community.

The plan follows extensive public engagement, identifying community needs and priorities. Through collaboration with experts, the University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) and UBC Properties Trust, NCAP outlines essential actions and targets to combat climate change while ensuring sustainable development and infrastructure 🌱🏗️.

NCAP sets both immediate and long-term goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate impacts. Let's build a sustainable future together. 🌎💚
