VSP Nursing UBC An international study abroad program open to students of all disciplines. International students from all disciplines are welcome to apply.

The Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) is a four-week academic program that offers the opportunity to take a program package, includes two academic courses (applicable outside of nursing), while learning about Canadian practices and culture. Participants will attend highly interactive classes and engage in a variety of social activities while living in residence on UBC's stunning campus, located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish people.

That’s a wrap on VSP 2026 at UBC Nursing 🎓💜

Four weeks. Three packages. One unforgettable group of students.

From stepping inside Vancouver’s nursing homes and long-term care facilities, to exploring UBC’s campus and the city beyond it, our Packages A, B, and C students got the full experience. We hiked the suspension bridge and creeks of Lynn Canyon 🥾, waterholes along the Pacific 🌊, and somewhere between the lectures, the laughter, and the late-night group chats, became a community!

And last week they graduated ✨🥳🎊🎉

Thank you to our students for showing up with so much energy every single day! Vancouver was better with you here. Safe travels home, and please keep in touch🫶

From waterbiking along Vancouver’s beautiful waterfront to hiking through scenic trails, our students had plenty of opportunities to explore the city, enjoy the outdoors, and make unforgettable memories together. 💙

Meet the incredible instructors leading VSP Nursing 2026! 👩‍⚕️🩺

We’re excited to introduce: Carrie Willekes, Jasjit Gill, Sabrina Gill, Zachary Daly, and Monica Rana, a group of experienced nurses, educators, and healthcare leaders who will be guiding students through this year’s VSP Nursing courses!

📚 Here’s what they’ll be teaching:

• Carrie Willekes: Aging in Action: Exploring Health, Care and Community (Package A: Course 1)

• Jasjit Gill: Caring Communities: Supporting Seniors Where They Live (Package A: Course 2)

• Sabrina Gill: Stress Less: Science, Strategies & Self-Care (Package B: Course 2)
