UBC Thunderbots is a design team entirely run by students and comprise of engineering, computer science, and commerce students. Our mission is to build fully autonomous robots to compete at the International RoboCup Competition and Conference. The team started with a small number of students in early 2002. However, since September 2006, a new generation of undergraduate student re-established the
UBC Robot Soccer Team. In the new generation of UBC Thunderbots, members come from a diverse background, ranging from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, etc. Robocup one of the largest international robotics conferences and competitions that brings out leading researches and the brightest students from universities from around the world with over 3000 participants from over 40 different countries.
