To some extent, she helped me answer two of life's biggest questions: who I am, and where I want to go." - Andrew Han (UBC Sauder BCom '26)

For UBC Sauder BCom student Andrew Han, a mentorship that began across borders became an opportunity to find greater clarity in his career path and turn shared values into action.

Through the Montalbano Mentorship Program’s expansion into the Asia Pacific region, Andrew was paired with alumna Leanne P**n (UBC Sauder BCom ’06), whose career has spanned North America and Asia.

Their shared commitment to giving back soon extended beyond their mentorship. Drawing on Leanne’s longtime support of Green Umbrella and Andrew’s involvement with Sauder LIFT: Africa, the pair collaborated on a Vancouver fundraiser that brought together more than 80 attendees and raised over $2,000 for Cambodian youth.

Gautam Lohia (UBC BSc ‘90, MBA ’95) has spent his career spotting opportunities, from launching his first business as a teenager to co-founding Apply Digital.

Now, together with his wife Minu (UBC BA ‘97), and their family, he’s helping create opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs at UBC Sauder.

The family’s $1 million gift will support a learning lab on the Innovation and Entrepreneurship floor of UBC Sauder’s new building - a space where students will be able to collaborate, test ideas and develop their venture-building skills.
