Meet MEL alumnus Sina Agunbiade.

A graduate of UBC’s Master of Engineering Leadership in High Performance Buildings, Sina brought his background in architecture and sustainable design to the program.

Through MEL, he expanded his knowledge of sustainable buildings, energy performance, regenerative development, business, and leadership. His experience included capstone projects focused on energy efficiency and embodied carbon, as well as a Sustainability Scholars project with the City of Burnaby.

Today, Sina works as a green building coordinator at Light House, supporting projects related to building performance, certification, climate risk, and regenerative practice.

Meet MEL alumna Riya Tolia.

A graduate of UBC’s Master of Engineering Leadership in High Performance Buildings, Riya used her time in the program to build knowledge, professional experience, and a network in sustainability.

Through MEL, she explored green building design, energy modelling, regenerative development, capstone projects, and sustainability-focused work with the City of Richmond and UBC Campus and Community Planning.

Riya works as a project manager in sustainability at WSP, where she contributes to sustainable solutions across infrastructure projects in Canada.

Choosing between a Master of Business Administration and UBC’s Master of Engineering Leadership depends on your goals, background, and the kind of leadership path you want to pursue.

UBC’s MEL is a one-year interdisciplinary professional master’s degree designed for engineering and technical professionals.
