If you’re entering first year at UBC Vancouver and coming directly from high school, you’ll want to register for Jump Start. The five day program is designed to give you a first look at university life, let you meet your professors and academic community, and help you make your first friends a

As countries around the world continue to be affected by the current outbreak of COVID-19, UBC is working closely with public health authorities to determine when it will be safe for students and faculty to return to campus. This year, we’re looking forward to delivering a memorable virtual Jump Start experience for you and your classmates! This year, the Jump Start registration fee is $35.00 (plus tax). Customize your Jump Start experience through workshops where you can learn how to manage your finances, how get involved on campus, and set yourself up for career success. Some workshops that may interest you are listed below:

Transforming Climate Anxiety into Climate Action

This workshop offers students the opportunity to learn about the Climate Emergency and how to get involved in climate action at UBC. Participants will gain the skills, as individuals and as a campus, to negotiate climate-related emotions and to redirect anxiety into climate action.

How to Have a Successful First Year Dining at UBC

Curious about dining options at UBC? Join this workshop hosted by UBC Food Services to learn about nutrition, healthy and sustainable eating on campus. Discover the different food options available as well as the benefits of All Access Dining and the Value Plan.
