We’re excited to announce we have released two new elements of our mobility management platform at Spare!

First, we are introducing our mascot to the wider public. Meet Sammy 👋

We will be using Sammy to showcase all the transportation challenges on-demand transit and shared rides can solve.

Second, we are releasing the third version of our website!

Our goal is to develop our website into a hub for a community of like-minded peers that are interested in the future of mobility.

Through it, we are planning to provide ample learning and networking opportunities.

Two years ago, we stopped hosting our weekly in-person breakfast events and moved everything online. Today, we are excited to announce that we’ve brought it back!

Today, Spare is joining transit agencies across Canada in celebrating Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day. Let us all take today to appreciate our local transit workers - from front-line drivers to maintenance workers to dispatchers - who keep us all moving every day.

It's been an incredible year at Spare!✨

Looking back on the year, we are so proud of everything we’ve accomplished - we’ve doubled in size from this time 2020, we’ve launched many amazing services, and we raised $18M in our Series A round!💪

So now, we’re taking break.

Our team will be offline starting December 24th and will be returning feeling fresh in the new year on January 4th.

While we’re resting and recharging, we’ll still have many of our open positions up on our Careers Page.

Since launching our first microtransit service in Dallas, TX in 2018, Spare has been on an incredible journey to bring efficient and sustainable on-demand mobility to riders everywhere.

Today, we’re excited to announce an $18M Series A investment that will bring us one step closer to building the mobility operating system of the future.

What’s that you might ask? We like to think of it as a tool that enables seamless cooperation between all mobility providers, from transit agencies to ride sharing companies. By building the backbone that allows a rider to hop from a microtransit minibus to a rapid fixed-route bus to the back of a ride sharing vehicle in a single booking, we can make shared mobility more convenient, more attractive and more equitable.

A big thank you to our investors led by Inovia Capital with participation from Kensington Capital, Link VC, Ramen VC, Ridge Ventures, TransLink Capital, Japan Airlines and Nicola Wealth. Thank you for believing in our vision!
