The IHI Open School for Health Professions is an interprofessional educational community that gives students the skills to become change agents in health care improvement.

At UBC, our IHI Open School Chapter provides students and professionals the opportunity of becoming active leaders in improving the quality of care available within their community. We provide training and practical opportunities for students to gain skills in quality improvement so they are prepared to be leaders in their community.  Healthcare touches everyone, and the necessary improvements and solutions will be the result of everyone’s participation and effort.

We are currently hiring for the following roles:

Come listen to Dr. Mia Re*****on at IHI UBC’s next workshop!! Click the link in our bio or in the caption to sign up!!

Mia Re*****on completed medical school at the University of Saskatchewan and then graduated from the UBC Pediatric Residency Program in 2013. Since then, she has been working primarily as a hospital-based pediatrician at BCCH, sprinkling in some locum work in Northern Manitoba and BC. She has participated in both PQI and the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council Clinician Quality Academy programs and led a project at BCCH aimed to improve discharge efficiency from the Clinical Teaching Unit. Mia continues to put principles of QI to work in her role as program director for the UBC Pediatric Residency Program and is currently the UBC PGME faculty lead for patient safety and quality improvement.
