We are pleased to announce the appointment of Marv Franz as the new Chair of the Regent College Board of Governors. Marv previously served as the Board’s Vice-Chair. Outgoing Board Chair Earl Phillips, KC, will continue to serve on the Board as the new Vice-Chair. This transition has been planned over the past several months to ensure a smooth succession and continuity in the life and work of the Board.

This coming week we celebrate the 100th birthday of Dr. J.I. Packer!
To mark the occasion, we’ve re-published his inaugural lecture as Regent College’s first Sangwoo Youtong Chee Professor of Theology, delivered in December 1989. In it, Dr. Packer set out his goal “to arrange a marriage, with explicit exchange of vows and mutual commitments, between spirituality and theology, or (if you would rather hear it put this way) between systematic and spiritual theology.” His words here spoke to the heart of his legacy within and beyond Regent College. They also cast a vision for a life of thoughtful devotion that we can all aspire to.
