Last week, the much anticipated GOVision Annual Case Competition took place on Saturday. This year, 14 teams of passionate, and enthusiastic students participated. With only 48 hours to prepare, each team worked diligently on a case relating to Tesla Motors. On the early morning of the competition, all 14 teams took turns presenting their ideas, analysis, and recommendations to our 6 professional judges from different industries. At the end of the first round of presentations, the judges held a brief discussion among themselves, and shortly after, 6 out of the 12 teams were ecstatic to hear their qualification to the second round of the competition.
After the lunch break, the six teams returned looking refreshed. They all gathered together to listen to the top three recommendations the judges have chosen. Each team was expected to focus on one of the three recommendations and prepare for another presentation within the one-hour time limit. Despite the pressures and time limit, all six teams were able to complete well constructed and excellent presentations. In the end, GOVision was proud to present the top three teams who were:
1) Encyclopedia
2) Army Consulting
3) Blueprint
First place will receive cash prize of $150 and two internal referrals from INFOX Consulting Inc. Second place will receive $50 Cash and 4 mock interviews with tutors from RBC, CIBC, IT field, and HR field. Third place will receive career consulting service.
Congratulations to winning teams again! For those teams did not get into the top three list, please don’t feel discourage. This is just one of many case competitions during our undergraduate studies.
We appreciate the efforts that all competing teams have put into this case competition. During the event, we saw teams came well prepared with insightful analysis and recommendations on the case. We are very impressed by the outstanding performance of every team. After the event, participants also seize the opportunities to network with all the judges. We hope that everyone received meaningful feedbacks and career advice from professionals!
