From Miami to Vancouver ✈️🎬

Over three immersive weeks at VFS, students from Miami Dade College explored acting, screenwriting, film production, cinematography, and industry experiences designed to bring storytelling to life.

From workshops and shoot days to collaborating with industry professionals and stepping behind the scenes at CBC Vancouver, these students dove headfirst into the creative process while experiencing life at VFS.

It was a pleasure welcoming this talented group to campus and sharing what makes our creative community so special. Thanks for spending your summer with us–we can’t wait to see where your creative journeys take you next. ✨

The World Cup is coming to Vancouver – and VFS is ready to celebrate with you! ⚽

We’re opening our doors this June with “Beyond the Pitch” – a week of free screenings, interactive experiences, industry talks, and family-friendly events held right here on campus.

From screenings of classic films like ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ and ‘Diego Maradona’ to an EA Sports FC alumni panel and a motion capture experience that puts you on the pitch, this is your chance to experience the World Cup in a new way.

Innovation, inspiration, and a look at what’s next in game development 🎮✨

A huge thank you to the team at Black Eye Technologies for joining our Game Design students, staff, and alumni to share insights into the future of cinematic camera systems in Unreal Engine.

Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to showcase their games, talk through their creative decisions, and connect directly with industry professionals working at the forefront of real-time technology.

Experiences like this are what make VFS special – learning from industry leaders, exploring emerging tools, and building the connections that help shape future careers.

For more than a decade, Vancouver Film School has partnered with leading institutions across Latin America to help aspiring creatives take the next step in their careers through exclusive scholarship opportunities.

Today, Latin American students represent the largest international student population at VFS, and those partnerships continue to create pathways into careers in film, animation, game design, writing, acting, and more.

In 2025 alone, VFS offered nine scholarships dedicated to Latin American talent, including opportunities through institutions such as TEC de Monterrey, Universidad de Los Andes, Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Belas Artes, FAAP, and Anáhuac University.

Students from our Game Design, Programming for Games, and Digital Design programs were excited to see the unique and innovative work this studio is creating with hardware and software.
