The Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship returns to the island in 2027⚡

The CUMRC and the University of Victoria are excited to announce that UVic has been selected to host the 2027 McTavish Cup, bringing Canada's national university men's rugby championship back to Victoria on November 16, 18 and 20, 2027.

We look forward to welcoming the top teams in the nation, with the team earning an automatic host-berth.

Vikes Kick Cancer is joining Soccer for Cancer. 💛⚽️🎗️

For years, our community has shown the incredible impact sport can have far beyond the pitch through Vikes Kick Cancer. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward as UVic officially joins Soccer for Cancer, the Canadian Cancer Society’s national soccer fundraising movement.

Together with soccer communities across Canada, we’ll continue using the game we love to raise funds, awareness and support for people affected by cancer.

Every Vikes student-athlete has a story of commitment, determination and ambition. For 19 years, supporters of the Vikes Championship Breakfast have helped make those stories possible. This event has raised more than $10 million since 2008 in support of student-athletes pursuing excellence in sport and academics.
