As we approach Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize that this time can bring forward many emotions.

Additional support is available to Indigenous students, staff and faculty through Noojimo Health, an Indigenous-owned and led organization offering culturally safe virtual counselling.

✨ Noojimo Health is offering FREE clinical support ✨

🌿 Beginning September 29 and for the following two weeks:
• Counselling is available by video or phone
• There is no cost to Indigenous students, staff or faculty accessing this support
• No diagnosis, doctor’s referral or status card is required. Self-identification is enough
• Support is confidential and what you share with Noojimo does not go back to UVic

📞 September 29: Intake will be available by phone only at 1-833-277-5678.

After September 29, you can connect using the information in the attached poster and pamphlet, visit noojimohealth.ca/uvic, or call 1-833-277-5678.

You do not have to be in crisis to talk to someone. Reach out when you are ready. 🧡

🧘‍♀️Yoga with Tanisha🧘‍♀️

⭐️ Tanisha Nuttall (she/her) is Cree Métis from Treaty 6 Territory; she also carries English, Norwegian, and German ancestry. She was introduced to yoga at a formative age and it has carried her through all of the seasons of her life. Her teaching is guided by two eyed seeing, honouring the roots of yoga while weaving in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Her intention is to create a space for you to explore and be curious and to start a lifelong conversation with your breath and body.

🍃Open to all Indigenous students, these session are beginner friendly and everything in between!

📍Today's session will be from 4:30pm - 5:30pm in the Ceremonial Hall at the First Peoples House.

🎊Are you an Indigenous undergraduate student graduating this Fall? We want to celebrate you! The Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement (IACE) in partnership with UVic are featuring the stories of Indigenous students graduating in Fall 2026.

This is an opportunity to share your journey, highlight your achievements and inspire future students.

ℹ️If you’re interested, we’ll provide you with a short set of storytelling questions to guide your responses (favourite memory, impactful classes, extracurricular highlights, next steps, etc.).

📩Your completed responses will be featured in UVic channels celebrating graduates this fall.
