Get ready to kick of a new semester with solidarity and fun!

🌭✊ Welcome to 2026-27, union family. πŸ’ͺπŸ”

CUPE Local 2081, Camosun faculty and BCGEU Component 7 at Camosun College are coming together for a shared Fall Welcome BBQ to start the semester in solidarity.

We know Camosun students' success is carried by workers across every part of the College. Faculty, support staff, and union workers in every corner of our institution make public education possible. And we know how important it is to celebrate and acknowledge each other!

It's no coincidence that we also celebrate Labour Day this time of year, reminding us that the rights we count on were not handed to us. Workers won them by organizing, standing together, and refusing to accept less than dignity, fairness, and respect.

That same spirit belongs here, and we need these reminders, now more than ever!

Solidarity is built in big moments, but it endures in all the small ones: sharing food, meeting each other, welcoming new members, and remembering that none of us face the challenges of this sector alone. That will be more important than ever as our unions continue bargaining!

Join all the unionized employees at Camosun College as we welcome the fall semester together.

πŸ“… Date: September 2
πŸ•› Time: 11:30 to 1:30
πŸ“ Location: HH Annex & Courtyard IU

Be sure to RSVP in Outlook for your Ticket. Come for the BBQ. Stay for the solidarity.

Big thank you and stay prepared!
