Pacific Horticulture College is now accepting applications for the 2027 Landscape Horticulture Certificate Program!

Program Details:
🔹January 18-November 19, 2027
🔹Full-time Monday to Thursday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
🔹Friday 9:00 am -12:30 pm (28.5 hours/week)
🔹Two weeks of Work Experience in August and September with local industry hosts
🔹Two weeks of summer break in late June-July

Courses in this program include Practical Skills, Botany, Soils, Plant Identification, Pruning, Introduction to Permaculture, Plant Health, Introduction to Food Growing, Turfgrass Management, Irrigation, Business Practices, Communication Skills, Introduction to Hardscaping, Grading and Drainage, and more!

Upon completion of the program, students receive both a Pacific Horticulture College program completion certificate and a SkilledTradesBC Level 1 and 2 Landscape Horticulturist training levels. Additionally, the Certificate provides credit for the first two apprenticeship levels and 500 work-based training hours for Red Seal Certification.

The full-time Landscape Horticulture Certificate Program includes an exciting series called "Special Topics in Horticulture", and consists of classes that dive into a specialized topic that perhaps doesn't quite fit into the program curriculum, but is beneficial for Horticulture professionals. Topics over the years have included Organic Land Care, Rhododendrons, Mycology, Environmental Stewardship and many, many more! Last week the students participated in their first "Special Topics" class of the year, diving into the world of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicine!
