Sent by Emile Fromet de Rosnay:

Dear friends, feel free to attend the "Fall of Theory" symposium on Saturday. Here's the schedule with links to the presenters:

An amazing line-up, including James R. Martel from SFSU. Normally, it's the "Summer of Theory," but that didn't happen this year and we came up with the "Fall of Theory" (FOT) instead. Presenters were encouraged to think about what the "fall of theory" might mean.

Join us on Oct 2 @ 5.00 pm for an insightful panel discussion featuring four distinguished faculty members from the Cultural Social and Political Thought program (CSPT) as they delve into the innovative field of Research-Creation. This event will illuminate the dynamic interplay between academic scholarship and creative practices, showcasing how these realms can inform and enrich one another.

Research-Creation represents a convergence of academic and creative practices that reinterprets the boundaries between these domains. In this framework, creative work can function as a form of theoretical inquiry, while scholarly research can embrace creative methodologies. This integration promotes a dialogue that deepens understanding in both fields. This panel seeks to highlight current Research-Creation initiatives on campus and to critically examine the contemporary implications of Research-Creation, as well as its potential trajectories moving forward.
