UVic Social Sciences Co-op Official group for the University of Victoria Social Sciences Co-op Program. UVic Co-op helps students prepare for the workforce.

Some information is directed specifically to co-op students, but generally the information is to help all UVic Social Sciences students. **UPCOMING EVENT!!**

Would you like to help shape and update the Social Sciences Co-op Program?

Have you completed our mandatory prep course, gone on a work term or are working hard to secure a co-op job?

Join us on March 19th from 3:30-5:30pm to provide your perspectives, thoughts and rationale on how we can make this program better!

Sign up if you are interested. Due to the nature of this event, we ask that you only sign up if you can stay for the whole duration of the event. Spaces are limited, so we will confirm if you have been selected an we have enabled a waitlist for this event.

Join ConnectAble: Peer support group & Co-op Guidance for Students with Lived Experience

Are you a UVic student who self-identifies as having a disability and/or mental health challenge?
ConnectAble is a peer-focused support program designed to help you navigate co-op job searching in a way that honours your lived experience. Through community connection, peer support, and personalized guidance, ConnectAble creates space for students to explore opportunities, build confidence, and feel supported every step of the way.

What is it about:

- You will join 6 sessions hosted by the Accessibility and Inclusion Co-op and Career coordinator held on Tuesdays 03 PM - 04 PM (no worries if you can not attend all sessions) in Elliot Building 161
- Attending all 6 sessions makes you eligible for extracurricular record on your transcript
- Participants that attend 4 sessions or more receive $10 per attended session (on your one-card)
- You will have fun, meet like minded peers and learn how to self-advocate in the workplace

Join us this Friday for an online information session by Parisa Pakzad about the Government of Canada's Student Recruitment Programs. Parisa will speak to exciting career opportunities in the federal public service, and will be joined by the Canadian Coast Guard, who will share insights into their Inshore Rescue Boat (IRB) student program.
