Registration is now open for the 2026 Laurier Summer Institute of Research Methods (LSIRM), with Early Bird savings of 20% available until June 30, 2026.
LSIRM 2026 will run fully online from July 13–17, 2026, offering accessible training for researchers, community members, and students across institutions and disciplines. Workshops offered include:
Introduction to NVivo (July 13, half- or full-day option): Learn foundational to advanced NVivo skills, including coding, data organization, querying, and visualization, with opportunities to work with your own or sample datasets.
Qualitative Data Analysis (July 14, full day): Develop core skills in coding, building analytic frameworks, and producing rigorous qualitative findings.
Skills for Effective Interviewing and Focus Groups (July 15, half day): Gain practical experience designing interview protocols, asking effective questions, and conducting high-quality qualitative data collection.
Program Evaluation: Equity-Focused Evaluation (July 16, full day): Build capacity for equity-centered evaluation, with attention to power, context, and programs serving communities marginalized by dominant systems and ideologies.
Program Evaluation: Logic Models and Process Evaluation with an Equity Lens (July 17, full day): Learn to develop and apply logic models and program theory to evaluate impact in equity-informed ways. While workshops can be taken independently, this session is designed to complement the equity-focused evaluation workshop.
Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot with the 20% Early Bird discount before June 30.
