Long before they start talking, infants have acquired a surprising degree of knowledge about the sounds, words, and grammar of their language. In our lab at the University of Waterloo, we seek to understand the initial capacities that infants bring to the task of language acquisition, and how infants' knowledge is altered by their experience with the language(s) around them.

Did you know that most libraries are connected to apps which allow you to check-out free e-books, audiobooks, and movies with your library card? They are a great way to continue to have access to new books while the library is closed. Each library is connected with specific platforms with various selections. Some of these apps are geared at all ages, and some are just for kids! Find out how to use them by visiting the web page for your local library. Many libraries are continuing to run kids' programs virtually as well. So check those out too! We have listed some libraries around the region below:
