The 2026 Technology Governance Policy Challenge tasked graduate students from seven countries to develop policy solutions for one of today's most pressing issues: how can green technologies be governed to support climate mitigation, adaptation, and intervention?

The policy briefs developed for the competition are now compiled into an anthology, showcasing fresh ideas and practical recommendations for the governance of emerging technologies.

A sincere thank you to our student teams, judges, coaches, and institutional partners for contributing their expertise and making this year's Challenge possible!

We were delighted to host The Honourable Bob Rae for our 2026 Balsillie Lecture last evening at the Balsillie School.

His lecture, How the Light Gets In: Breaking Through the Shadows of an Orwellian World, offered a timely reflection on the risks of growing surveillance and authoritarianism, alongside the role of renewed alliances, both within and between countries, in strengthening democratic systems.

Thank you to Mr. Rae for joining us, and to the full house that attended.
