Əziz həmvətənlər,
Məlum olduğu kimi, Ermənistan-Azərbaycan təmas xəttində son günlər yaşanan hadisələrlə bağlı Kanadanın Mühafizəkarlar Partiyası erməni icmasının maraqlarına xidmət edən birtərəfli və qərəzli bəyanatla çıxış etmişdir. Bəyanatın mətni ilə aşağıdakı keçiddən tanış olmaq olar: http://www.conservative.ca/conservatives-call-for-an-end-to-violence-in-nagorno-karabakh/
Bununla əlaqədar olaraq, əlavə olunan etiraz məktubu formasında məktubların öz adınızdan MP-lər Rona Ambrose – Interim Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada ([email protected]); Tony Clement – Official Opposition Foreign Affairs critic ([email protected]); və Peter Kent – Official Opposition Foreign Affairs Deputy Critic ([email protected]) göndərməyinizi xahiş edirik.

Dear Mr. Clement,
I am writing to you to express my extreme disappointment with the wording of your statement from April 4, 2016, on the latest outbreak of violence in and around the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
This statement is full of factual errors and represents a one-sided, biased position towards the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
Contrary to what has been stated in the statement, it was not Azerbaijan, but Armenia who initiated the latest attacks on the frontline. There is no credible international source which blames Azerbaijan for these attacks. It all started when Azerbaijani armed forces responded to Armenian artillery attacks targeting civilians residing in the territories adjacent to the frontline area. As a result of the artillery attacks of the Armenian armed forces, a number of civilians were killed and seriously wounded.
It should be mentioned that the illegal presence of Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan remains a main cause for the escalation of the situation and continues to pose a threat to the regional peace and stability.
The Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict should be resolved on the basis of the United Nations Security Council resolutions 822(1993), 853(1993), 874(1993) and 884(1993) and the U.N. General Assembly resolution 62/243 (2008), which condemn the use of force against Azerbaijan and the occupation of its territories, and reaffirm the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the inviolability of its internationally recognized borders. In those resolutions, the United Nations reaffirmed that the Nagorno-Karabakh region is an inalienable part of Azerbaijan and demanded immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the occupying forces from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Hence, Conservatives should rather demand from Armenia to cease the illegal occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories and to engage constructively in the conflict settlement process in accordance with the requirements of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the norms and principles of international law.
Sincerely,
