A new academic year, new connections and another year of building what’s next.

We welcomed our returning part-time MBET students entering their second and final year of studies, alongside our newest first-year cohort, as they kicked off another year of learning, collaboration and entrepreneurship.

From familiar faces to new beginnings, the MBET community continues to grow bringing together ambitious professionals, innovators and entrepreneurs who are ready to turn ideas into impact.

Our newest full-time MBET cohort kicked off their journey with connection, collaboration and hands-on learning, before diving into classes.

From hearing firsthand insights during our MBET Alumni Panel: The MBET Experience, to networking with the MBET community, tackling a mini product sprint and putting ideas to the test through pitches, students got an early taste of what MBET is all about: learning by doing, building connections and turning ideas into action.

And, of course, we had to end with a little friendly competition on the bowling lanes.

Here’s to a new cohort, new ideas and a year of building what’s next. 🚀

Please join us in welcoming Robert Colquhoun to the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business!

Rob joins the Conrad School as an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream. He brings experience from the Ivey Business School and Toronto Metropolitan University, along with a strong background in entrepreneurship education, venture creation and startup ecosystems.

His work with leading incubators and accelerators has given him extensive hands-on experience supporting entrepreneurs and designing and delivering entrepreneurship programs.

At the heart of his teaching is experiential learning: helping students move beyond theory and apply entrepreneurial frameworks to real-world problems, opportunities and venture ideas.

Rob was drawn to the Conrad School's commitment to experiential entrepreneurship education and its unique position within Waterloo’s innovation ecosystem.

We’re excited to have him join our community and bring his experience, perspective and passion for entrepreneurship education to the University of Waterloo!

Dr. Sharlene He, Associate Professor and Conrad Research Excellence Chair at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business, is currently seeking students for the PhD in Entrepreneurship and Organization, winter 2027 intake.

Consider applying if you're interested in:
•How people think, judge, and make decisions
•Helping people make better decisions in complex environments
•How new technologies like AI affect human cognition and behaviour
•Exploring questions at the intersection of psychology, technology, and decision-making

If your research interests align with the above, connect with Dr. He.

Prior coursework or research experience in psychology or a related discipline is an asset, though not required.
