WiM received the inaugural CMS Inclusion in Math Prize in the Group Category!

The Women in Math (WiM) Committee is deeply honoured and grateful to the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) for being named the inaugural recipient of the Inclusion in Mathematics Prize in the Group Category. This national-level honour recognizes the committee's longstanding commitment to promoting women and other underrepresented groups, and to fostering a more welcoming and inclusive mathematical community. This achievement also reflects the strong commitment of the University of Waterloo and the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

On behalf of the entire committee, Yu-Ru Liu, Professor in the Pure Mathematics department and Director of WiM, extends our heartfelt gratitude to the Canadian Mathematical Society for this prestigious recognition. We also thank Charmaine Dean, Vice President, Research & International, and Jochen Koenemann, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, for their unwavering support of WiM.

Most importantly, Yu-Ru extends her sincere thanks to all former and current WiM committee members whose dedication and contributions made this group prize possible. This recognition celebrates the collective efforts and steadfast commitment of everyone who has helped advance WiM over the years.
