By request, we're extending registration for the Laurier Conducting Symposium by one additional week!

Join us on Saturday, November 14, for a full day of learning, collaboration and music-making with Dr. Leah McGray and Dr. Cynthia Johnston Turner.

Whether you're a music educator looking to sharpen your rehearsal techniques or a student eager to grow your conducting skills, this is an opportunity to learn from experienced clinicians, explore score study and body mapping, and step onto the podium to conduct the Laurier Wind Orchestra with personalized feedback.

Our Contemporary and Commercial Music (CCM) trumpet instructor, Andrew McAnsh, is currently in Panama, leading masterclasses at the Fundación Danilo Pérez and the University of Panama!

Founded by Grammy-winning pianist Danilo Pérez, the foundation provides music education and opportunities for underserved youth.

Andrew is also performing alongside Colombian singer Natasha Roldán at the MIM LATAM Conference, celebrating women and female-identifying artists in Latin America.

Laurier Music percussion faculty member and Associate Dean Brennan Connolly recently joined the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra for a world premiere performance of Forest Paths Imagined by Leo Purich. Connolly performed the offstage bells part from the balcony at FirstOntario Concert Hall.

It’s always great to see our faculty performing beyond Laurier and bringing that professional experience back to our students.
