UGMT Undergraduate Mock Trials Canada

UGMT Undergraduate Mock Trials Canada Welcome to Undergraduate Mock Trials Canada, Canada's fully established undergraduate-level mock tri CLAUSE is dedicated to student success.

Created by CLAUSE, Undergraduate Mock Trials (UGMT) is a competition that brings students in touch with the legal system in Canada and helps them understand the process that a lawyer goes through to reach trial. From pressing charges to the final verdict, participants will be immersed deeply into the rich, and sometimes arbitrary, events that test lawyers everyday. CLAUSE is a federal, nonprofit o

rganization created and managed by students. Recognizing the need for more law-related opportunities at the undergraduate level, CLAUSE aims to fill the void by recruiting students to engage in project management related to the field of law.

Want to find a certified and professional experience to add to your resume or law school application?

Looking for a place to gain hands-on legal knowledge and skills for Canadian courtrooms?

Or do you simply want to meet other like-minded peers, build lifelong friendships and explore your interests in the legal field together?

UGMT is a nationwide mock trial competition established in 2012 that connects students and legal professionals across Canada. We are hosting our annual criminal division in March where students get to play the role of lawyers and witnesses while being judged by licensed attorneys. Participants will compete as the crown or defence team in a criminal case that we have prepared. During our trials, you will learn how to make arguments and objections, present evidence, and formal courtroom decorum. ALL TRIALS ARE HELD ON ZOOM making it easily accessible from wherever you are.

Over the past 11 years, we have served students across various schools and programs. Including pre-law, business, science, math, arts and more. Therefore, no mock trial experience or prior legal knowledge is necessary.

Apply by FRIDAY the 24th of February at 11:59pm EST with friends or individually via https://forms.gle/xQosDsuT6th2tBmf7 for a chance to win a cash prize and become a certified mock lawyer.
