UWaterloo Advancement of Independent Optometry Club The University of Waterloo AIOC promote privates practice in optometry, and is committed to helping students become both business and health professionals.

The UW private practice optometry club was founded to provide students with opportunities to learn about this mode of practice and build their entrepreneurship skills while in school. Our mission is to ensure that you are better prepared succeed as an independent optometrist post graduation. We can do this by providing you with the following membership perks:

-Access to speakers with topics on op

ening and managing a clinic

-Opportunities to meet and discuss with successful private practice optometrists

-Workshops on various practice management topics

-Travel grants available to attend optometry conferences in Canada and the US

-Free business card holder

We are selling these enamel pins in GOLD and CORAL PINK for $14.50 each and there is a limited supply so grab them before they go. The sale will open on March 18th at 6pm and we’ll be selling them until all are sold out (this happened within a day last year).

We are thrilled to introduce our semester opener talk with Dr. Emily Shtull TODAY, October 04th at 7.00pm. The talk will focus on the Student Optometric Leadership Network (SOL'N).

Originally from Montreal, Dr. Emily Shtull attended optometry school at SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. After completing her residency in Ocular Disease with emphasis on Cornea and Contact Lens and Refractive and Ocular Surgery, Dr. Shtull joined a multidisciplinary ophthalmology/optometry practice in Manhattan, New York providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages and performing specialty lens fittings.

Join our talk virtually to hear about Dr.Shtull's optometric journey, the National Student Optometric Leadership Network and how to get involved as a student/OD.

UWAIOC (aka the Private Practice Club) is excited to announce our PHOROPTOR PIN SALE! These beautiful pins are being sold for $12 each!

To purchase a phoropter pin, fill out the google order form below, and we will reach out to you to confirm your order (limited supply of gold!) The pins should be ready by Wednesday February 12th, just in time for Valentine's Day! They will be available for pick up in your mailboxes located on the third floor or can be shipped ($1.50).
