Just in time for Ontario Wine Week, Niagara College's Teaching Winery is raising a glass to international and provincial acclaim. 🍾🏅

Most notably, Niagara College secured a Decanter World Wine Awards Gold for its Dean’s List Blanc de Blancs (2019) and an Ontario Wine Awards double gold for its Dean’s List Blanc de Noirs (2019). The double gold win automatically qualifies the wine for the prestigious 2026 Lieutenant Governor Award for Excellence in Ontario Wines.

We were pleased to welcome Trevor Jones, Ontario's Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, to NC's NOTL Campus on June 12.

During his visit, Minister Jones toured the Teaching Greenhouse and Nursery, explored the Horticultural and Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre (HESIC), and learned how Niagara College is graduating the workforce of tomorrow, and leading the way in applied research, and innovation in the environmental and horticulture sectors while supporting small- and medium-sized businesses across Ontario.

We appreciated the opportunity to showcase the hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and applied research that are helping shape the future of agriculture, horticulture, and environmental sustainability in Ontario.

From Niagara to Halifax, NC's Indigenous Education team travelled more than 1,700 kilometres to connect with Indigenous youth from across Canada at the Soaring Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering.

The journey was about more than recruitment. It was an opportunity to build relationships, share pathways to post-secondary education, and showcase the supports available to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis learners at Niagara College.

After six days, 12 high-energy ceremonies and thousands of congratulatory handshakes, Niagara College officially concluded its largest ever Spring Convocation on Saturday, June 13.

The marathon event marked a historic milestone for the College, adding approximately 7,000 new graduates to its global alumni family of well over 150,000.

From healthcare professionals, nurses, community service workers, and justice professionals to culinary and hospitality leaders, brewers, tradespeople, technologists, media creators, business professionals, horticultural experts, and environmental stewards, the Class of 2026 represents the very best of applied education in action.
