Brock Badgers Repost! 2020 Brock Sports Awards - The crew successfully competed in the last race of their 2019 season on September 14th at the Stratford Dragonboat Festival, being the first race for many paddlers. The crew trained hard throughout the year creating a strong team bond for their 2020 racing season that commences at the end of spring. Despite their season being cut short unexpectedly, the badgers are determined to continue to train hard till they are once again able to paddle on the waters together as a crew. 🐲

Congratulations to one of the powerhouse paddlers of our crew Riley Cleverdon for her convocation as she has completed her undergraduate studies in Kinesiology! 🎓🎉

But don’t fret! Riley will be continuing her studies at Brock to complete her masters! 📕

Calling all Badgers! Our final trial of 2018 is today at the WIFC from 5-6:30. Please arrive 15 minutes early as well as full out your online athlete forms before attending! A $10 fee will be charged to your student account for attending!

We will be having our season practices starting very shortly, coming up quick on September 10th!

If you are considering attending one of our trial days coming up on September 12th/14th respectively. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN UP AS AN ATHLETE ON THE BROCK STUDENT PORTAL - STUDENT SELF SERVE

If you are interested in joining the club fully, our
on the water practices first semester will be held from 5:00pm-6:30pm, although we would like to promptly get on the water at 5:00 so please attempt to arrive 20 minutes early to allow change as well as warm up.

Practices and trials will be held
16 Townline Tunnel Road, Welland on
September 10th
September 12th (trial, $10 to attend practice for non members)
September 14th (trial, cost is $10 to attend practice for non members)
October 1st
October 3rd
October 8th
AND October 10th.
Our goal first semester is to build our general fitness as well as team unity. While we do not have practice following the 14th of September - Oct 1st.

I would still like to host our first general team meeting at some point during this time. Odds are in one of our practice slots, I.e Monday or Wednesday 5:00-6:30

It's almost that time of year again, and we've got another (exciting) season of paddling to come!

For those who are interested in joining the team, we will be running a couple on the water trials at the Welland International Flatwater Center, 16 Townline Tunnel rd, Welland. on September 12th and 14th from 5:00 - 6:30. There will be a $10 fee associated with these trials.

As well, we will be having regular practices from 5:00-6:30 on September 10th, 17th, 19th, 24th, and 26th, and on October 1st, 3rd, and 10th. It is mandatory to make 1 practice per week.

We will also try to on land practices, we are looking at September - November. Sessions will be held on Friday's and times are yet to be determined.

All fees will be paid via student account, therefore athletes must sign up with their full name as it appears on their student card and their student number, no other methods of payment or registration will be accepted.

*ALL individuals wishing to try-out or join must complete the appropriate health forms, and athlete forms located in their student portal PRIOR to attending try-outs. Athlete and health forms can be found by logging into your student portal.

Please follow the steps below to register online as an athlete:
* Log into your mybrocku.ca account.
* Go to Applicant and student self serve
* Click on register in new tab, look on the left side and click "Athletics"
* Then click "Athletics Form"
* Create a new form by clicking the box that says "New"
* Complete forms

As we are still a new club, we are still not widely known. If you know anyone who might be interested, feel free to send them our way. More the merrier!

· Be on time
· Treat others with fairness and respect

· Respect team mates
· Respect coaching staff
· Recognize that the coaching staff are in charge at all times
· Relay any questions or concerns in a respectful manner
· Respect all equipment. If you need assistance to store or carry a boat – ask a coach immediately.
· Respect the equipment of others. Cannot use the equipment of others without their consent
· Thank those who contribute to their paddling development


Due to the nature of the sport, once the boat departs the dock, they will not be returning to pick up additional paddlers, please arrive on time to reserve your spot on the boat.

The Brock badgers participated in two regattas this summer! The first regatta was held in Milton where many of our athletes raced for their very first time.
The second one was held in Welland, at the International Flatwater Centre where they obtained 1st in the top C category!
What a successful first season for the badgers!
