Whistler Blackcomb is set to open on November 22 for the 2024-25 winter season, conditions permitting. Vail Resorts recently announced some exciting updates, including a new Jersey Cream chairlift on Blackcomb, which will enhance capacity and speed in the Glacier Creek Zone. The chairlift, replacing the old one removed after last season, is on track to be ready by winter.
This season also marks the arrival of the Invictus Games in February 2025, featuring winter sports on the mountain for the first time. Additionally, Vail is rolling out mobile pass technology via the My Epic app, allowing guests to skip the ticket window and go hands-free on the slopes. While physical passes will still be available this season, the mobile option will streamline the experience.
Pass prices will increase after September 2, so now is the time to secure the best rates. After last year’s challenging season, there’s hope for better conditions and a strong comeback in visitor numbers.
