Canterbury ElderCollege ElderCollege provides lifelong learning opportunities to enrich a long life!

Our fun, social, educational courses for people ages 55+ are held in-person, online, and as hybrids, so you can join us however you'd like and learn for the joy of learning. Canterbury ElderCollege is a non-profit organization offering opportunities for seniors to learn new things, meet new people, and maybe try something new! ElderCollege runs two semesters per year (Spring and Fall), each consis

ting of a variety of courses to suit all kinds of interests! Our courses are developed, managed, and instructed by a group of dedicated volunteers, without whom our program would be completely impossible! All the fun of exploring a new topic, with none of the stress of deadlines, tests, or exams! Learn for the joy of learning as we dive into new adventures every semester, including politics, geography, history, food & drink, art, hobbies, local and world history, armchair travel, health & wellness, nature, agriculture, finance, law, science, technology, and more! Our office is located in Canterbury College, near the University of Windsor's Campus (Windsor, Ontario Canada) but since our courses are offered online, in-person, and HYBRID (simultaneous online and in-person participation options), you can join us from wherever you are, however you like!

We are delighted to share that ElderCollege has once again received generous funding from the SWFB Flow Through Fund held . This continued investment supports our mission of providing lifelong learning opportunities in our community. Through their generosity, we can continue to enrich our community with learning opportunities for older adults— fostering curiosity, connection, and lifelong learning. Hey Windsor-Essex, Canterbury ElderCollege wants to hear from you!

We are looking for people aged 55+ to participate in focus groups around local specialty programming for the 55+ crowd here in Windsor-Essex. Candidates must be within the 55+ age range and located within Windsor-Essex & Chatham-Kent. In exchange for your time, we're offering a $5 Tim Horton's card. Please note that due to scheduling and demand, not everyone who submits an application will be called to participate.

We are pleased to share that the Chimczuk Museum is hosting Bi‑Giwen: Coming Home – Truth Telling from the Sixties Scoop from April 4 to July 5, 2026.

The exhibit works to educate the public about the impact of the Sixties Scoop on Indigenous communities in an effort to create a shared sense of understanding and a step towards reconciliation and healing.

Join the Museum Volunteer Group on Saturday, April 11th at 1pm at the Chimczuk Museum (401 Riverside Drive W) for their monthly speaker series.

This month, Melissa Phillips will be talking about the Sixties Scoop and the 150th Anniversary of the Indian Act.

Curious of what to expect at the OACAO Senior Active Living Fair? There's something for everyone!

Time; 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

We’ll have presentations on safety tips, downsizing, hearing assessments, and medication guidance from a local pharmacist. Plus, local programs, nutrition guidance, and community resources will be on hand.
