Canterbury ElderCollege

Canterbury ElderCollege ElderCollege provides lifelong learning opportunities to enrich a long life!

Our fun, social, educational courses for people ages 55+ are held in-person, online, and as hybrids, so you can join us however you'd like and learn for the joy of learning. Canterbury ElderCollege is a non-profit organization offering opportunities for seniors to learn new things, meet new people, and maybe try something new! ElderCollege runs two semesters per year (Spring and Fall), each consis

ting of a variety of courses to suit all kinds of interests! Our courses are developed, managed, and instructed by a group of dedicated volunteers, without whom our program would be completely impossible! All the fun of exploring a new topic, with none of the stress of deadlines, tests, or exams! Learn for the joy of learning as we dive into new adventures every semester, including politics, geography, history, food & drink, art, hobbies, local and world history, armchair travel, health & wellness, nature, agriculture, finance, law, science, technology, and more! Our office is located in Canterbury College, near the University of Windsor's Campus (Windsor, Ontario Canada) but since our courses are offered online, in-person, and HYBRID (simultaneous online and in-person participation options), you can join us from wherever you are, however you like!

Since 2010, ElderCollege’s Founder and Director, Dr. Lloyd Brown-John, worked passionately on his vision to build a fun, social, educational program designed to enrich the lives of those 55+ in our community. His recent passing earlier this year has left us with heavy hearts and a renewed commitment to ensuring that his incredible legacy of lifelong learning continues to flourish.

To honour Lloyd’s legacy and dedication, we’re launching the ‘New Pathways for Timeless Minds’ Fund Drive with a goal of raising $50,000 to sustain and revitalize the ElderCollege program he cared for so deeply.

We hope you will join us in celebrating Lloyd’s life, legacy, and the community he built by helping us to fulfil our goal. Every contribution, big or small, will help us secure the future of ElderCollege.
