Ignite Work-Study positions are now open! If you are a current student, you can browse and apply for available positions through mySuccess under “Ignite Work Study - NEW.” Applicants must be in good academic standing, meet minimum enrolment requirements and satisfy all program eligibility criteria.

Applications for the 2026-2027 program are being accepted until Oct. 26.

A free Career Skills Lab webinar is happening this Saturday, on August 1st. This week's episode, as part of a 6 part series, will focus on stress management, confidence building and resilience development, in relation to career planning and the career journey.

The session is designed to help young people build career confidence and gain practical skills that can support their next steps in school, work, leadership, and professional development. It may be especially helpful for students looking for real guidance, opportunities, and ways to prepare for future employment (especially in STEM fields).

The School of the Environment is saddened to share the passing of former faculty member Dr. Andrew (Andy) Turek on June 20, 2026. Dr. Turek joined the University of Windsor in 1971 and retired in 2001. A geology and geochemistry professor, he specialized in geochronology which is used to determine the timing of geological events worldwide. He was an outstanding teacher for undergraduates and a devoted mentor to his graduate students. Dr. Turek will be greatly missed.
