UWindsor Engineering co-op student Luke Laforest has received a Rising Star Award for his outstanding contributions during his work term at Ford Motor Company's Windsor Engine Plant. 👏

Through projects focused on predictive planning, assembly-line optimization and continuous improvement, Luke developed solutions that helped improve efficiency, reduce costs and better support frontline workers.

🦟 Catch a mosquito, help science!

This summer, UWindsor is turning mosquito season into an opportunity for scientific discovery, and we need your help tracking an invasive species in Windsor-Essex.
UWindsor Faculty of Science students are helping researchers better understand the distribution of the tiger mosquito, an invasive species first identified in Essex County in 2016.

By collecting and reporting mosquitoes, community members can contribute to research that helps scientists track where this species is found across the region.

🔬✨ A microscopy image created by UWindsor researcher Dr. Scott G. Harroun has been named a top 20 finalist in the Acfas La preuve par l'image photo contest, and now it’s up to the public to choose the winner!

Titled Nanoscale signaling, the stunning gold-and-red image captures lung cancer cells studded with gold nanoparticles, showcasing how science and art can come together to tell the story of cutting-edge cancer research. 🫁
