June is National Indigenous History Month, and on June 21, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to celebrate and honour the rich cultures, histories, languages, knowledge, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

💙 In Loving Memory of Dr. Alan Wildeman

UWindsor mourns the passing of President Emeritus Alan Wildeman, whose leadership, unwavering dedication, and vision helped shape the University of Windsor into the institution it is today.

As UWindsor’s President and Vice-Chancellor from 2008 to 2018, Dr. Wildeman guided the University through a transformative decade marked by growth, innovation, and deeper community connections.

His legacy can be seen across our campus and throughout Windsor-Essex, from the expansion of UWindsor’s downtown presence and the opening of the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation to the creation of new spaces that advanced medical education, research, and the creative arts.

Above all, Dr. Wildeman will be remembered for his deep commitment to students, his passion for education, and his passion for building a stronger future for both the University and the community it serves.

His impact will continue to be felt by generations of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members whose lives were touched by his leadership.

His legacy will forever remain a part of the UWindsor story.

⚖️ Mooting and negotiation competitions are a cornerstone of law school, offering students more than academic experience, they help shape confident, capable legal professionals.

Third-year students Joshua Carrasco and Andrej Prpa recently put those skills on full display, earning first place at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition (CNNC) in Montreal. 🏅🇨🇦

Their win secures them a spot representing Canada at the International Negotiation Competition (INC), taking place at Dalhousie University from June 29 to July 4, the first time Canada will host the event.
