ACI Concrete Construction Competition:

The competition involves creating a solution to a real life scenario that a project manager or field engineer may face on a concrete construction project. The team managers will receive the project statement on November 13, 2015 and the team must submit their solution by email on December 4, 2015. Prize amounts are as follows: First place - $750, Second place - $500, and Third place - $250. This is in addition to the $500 dollars that ACI will provide to each winning team to attend the Milwaukee convention to present their work. Hey Members,

The University of Windsor ACI Student Chapter will be hosting a free webinar on Tuesday Nov. 3 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the topic is;

Cold Weather Concreting: What to Prepare to Keep Concrete Construction Continuing

Cold weather concrete is a concern for the constructor and the owner alike. If there is insufficient protection the concrete will be damaged. If the protection is too high the increased costs can harm the contractor. Concreting practices are one place that the prepared contractor can impact risk management. The webinar will provide guidance to assist in judging the appropriate actions and precautions for cold weather construction using ACI 306R-10, “Guide to Cold Weather Concreting”.

If you are interested comment below, the room it will be held in will be announced.
