Manitoba GIS User Group - HUMANITARIAN MAPPING NIGHT - WEDNESDAY APRIL 3

Join us tomorrow, April 3 for humanitarian mapping night!

Our host, Keith Hartley, will take the group through the basics of OpenStreetMap, and then the group will work together on a humanitarian mapping project.

MGUG will be working on a Missing Maps project in support of Cyclone relief/logistics in Mozambique (and other openstreetmap fun!).

No experience is necessary! This is a great environment to introduce yourself to OSM and open source mapping.

Make sure to bring a laptop or something to map on. All mapping will be done using open source software, so no downloads or purchase is necessary.

The workshop will take place at SkullSpace on the second floor of 374 Donald Street in Winnipeg.

Workshop starts at 7:00 PM and runs two hours.

See the CBC News article on the Mozambique crisis below:

A Canadian team of Red Cross medical responders is headed into the heart of a humanitarian crisis in Mozambique after a cyclone devastated the country and surrounding southern African nations.
