Manitoba Phi Delt's ΦΔΘ Phi Delta Theta Manitoba Alpha Chapter at the University of Manitoba | see our instagram for update to content insta -

Phi Delta Theta was organized with three principle objectives: The cultivation of friendship among its members, the acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture, and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality. These objectives, referred to as the "Cardinal Principles," have guided over 229,000 men since 1848 when the Fraternity was founded at Miami University in Oxford

, Ohio. The Fraternity teaches men that these areas of commitment, outlined in The Bond of Phi Delta Theta, are not to be viewed as separate ideals, but as areas of discipline for daily life. Developments intellectually, in leadership, and human service (to name a few) are vital to the men of Phi Delta Theta. A member will support, and in turn have the support of, his brothers as these principles are lived out.

Things are starting to wrap up quickly this year and what better way to end off a great semester than by meeting up at the Grove on the 23rd for our annual Phi Delt Christmas get together.

David and I will be there 15min ahead of time and try to hold it down until midnight.

Swing on by and meet some old and new brothers of our chapter!

Yours in the Bond,

In loving memory of Brother Jim Pappas (April 14, 1942 - November 11, 2021)

Last week the Manitoba Alpha Chapter recieved very sad news that our Brother Jim Pappas had passed away on the eve of Remembrance Day.

Brother Jim joined the Manitoba Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta and became a full Phi on January 16, 1965. Jim loved his Fraternity so much and he showed that in his every day life.

Thought out Jim’s time in the fraternity, he took part in many events, including a cooking exchange in 2014 between the Phi Delts and the Manitoba Alpha Phi.

To the current active chapter, Jim was a mentor and friend. He allowed us to visit him and talk about everything you can imagine. He was very close to the active chapter and even thought he was alum, we were so close to him it was like he was still an active. Furthermore, he shared his backyard and house for many events from Phikeia induction to BBQ’s.

The active chapter will miss him dearly, but he will never be forgotten and his guidance lives on within all the current actives and phikeia.
