SWSA has members who regularly attend and participate in Senate and UMSU meetings acting as representatives of the Social Work student body. SWSA meets once a month to plan events and activities throughout the year that aim to support and encourage community b

uilding among Social Work students and the larger university community. SWSA holds events such as, knowledge sharing sessions, ASIST training, study sessions, potlucks, a Koats for Kids drive, and graduation.

Our Story

SWSA represents and advocates on behalf of undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Manitoba. SWSA has members who regularly attend and participate in Senate and UMSU meetings, acting as representatives of the Social Work student body. SWSA meets once a month to plan events and activities throughout the year that aim to support and encourage community building among social work students and the larger university community. SWSA holds events and trainings such as ASIST training, study sessions, orientation, Trauma-Informed Training, and graduation celebrations.
