The University of Manitoba Zambian Student Association (UMZASA) is created to get all the Zambian students at the University together for academics, social gatherings and support. It is a way of making Winnipeg a home far away from home. We organize events, welcome new Zambian students and other international students at the university. It gives us a chance to get together for important celebrations such as Black History Month, Independence Day and various traditional celebrations. UMZASA also allows us to celebrate our culture and share it with the student body and the willing public. We plan on organizing peer to peer support within our community giving it a chance to help one another settle. It will be great for first year students and those having trouble with classes and networking in and outside of the community. UMZASA wants to set standards as the most influential student group at university of Manitoba.
