Today’s the day our students cross the stage and receive their degrees! Wishing a wonderful day and ceremony to all our graduands.

At 9:30 am, degrees will be conferred in Arts, Business and Economics, Education, Graduate Programs, Kinesiology and Applied Health, and Science.

At 2:30 pm, we will confer Professional, Applied and Continuing Education certificates and diplomas.

As a student-athlete, Janet McMahon (BA 83) helped lead the Wesmen women’s basketball team to four national championship tournaments and three national bronze medals.

Her experience at UWinnipeg gave her the foundation to build a 40-year career in sport administration and eventually becoming the first women President and CEO of Sport Manitoba.

Throughout her career, she championed women in sport, providing opportunities for coaching, officiating, and leadership roles for women across the province.

The University of Winnipeg is proud to recognize Janet McMahon as the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award: Community Impact.
