Get your W requirement here!

You may have seen our advertisements for W requirement courses at the Open House. Just what is a W requirement and how can you get it?

All undergraduate students are required to complete, within the first 60 credit hours of their degree program, a minimum of one three-credit hour course with significant content in written English. This is called a "W requirement".

There are a number of courses offered in the Faculty of Arts that students (from all faculties) can take to satisfy this requirement. The photo shows the areas in Arts that offer W courses.

Check the Academic Calendar for full details and the complete list of eligible courses.

Get your ticket for the winter 2024 student mainstage theatre production!

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS
By William Shakespeare. Directed by Dr. Katrina Dunn.

MARCH 27 – 31, 2024
John J. Conklin Theatre, Gail Asper Performing Arts Hall, 3rd floor Tache Arts Complex, 150 Dafoe Road
Wednesday to Friday - 7:30 p.m.
Saturday – 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
Sunday – 2:00 p.m.

A man arrives in a new city to find that everyone knows his name, but thinks he’s someone else. A woman claims to be his wife but he’s never met her and her sister is extremely appealing. When the shenanigans finally resolve, a tragedy has transformed into love and delight. Believed to be one of Shakespeare's earliest plays, this comedy about separated family and mistaken identity is unforgettably poignant and hilarious. This production sets the action in a high fashion house of mirrors where style is commodity, image is identity, and your reflection may be taking over your life.

6 performances in total!
