Brayden Peters — Male Acadia Athlete of the Week

A strong start between the pipes for Brayden Peters!

The third-year business administration student from Taber, Alta., started both games for the Axemen during the opening week of AUS men’s hockey action, making 54 saves across two games.

Peters turned aside 32 shots in Acadia’s 5-2 season-opening win over Saint Mary’s, then followed with 22 saves in Friday’s 4-2 loss to UPEI.

A busy opening week in goal for the Axemen netminder.

Jenna Gallant — Female Acadia Athlete of the Week

A big performance with first place on the line!

Fourth-year kinesiology student Jenna Gallant was named player of the game after helping the Axewomen secure a 29-17 road victory over UPEI in Charlottetown.

Battling difficult weather conditions, Gallant played the full match, moved the ball effectively and was a force defensively as Acadia secured first place in the AUS regular-season standings.

With the victory, the Axewomen will now host the 2026 Bell AUS Women’s Rugby Championship presented by Wendy’s on Oct. 21!
